活动介绍

James Sale has been a poet for over 50 years; his worked has appeared in the UK and the USA, and currently he is on the Advisory Board of The Society of Classical Poets, based in New York. This – his 8th collection – picks up where ‘Inside the Whale’ left off: expect beauty, spirituality, and deep insights into the nature of the human condition, alongside a consummate technical skill in using and creating difficult forms that engage the rhythms and rhymes of ordinary speech. There is, as Evan Mantyk observed, an ‘epic zest’ to his work.

Linda E Sale has been an artist for over 40 years and her work has appeared in many exhibitions, including locally at The Russell-Cotes and Red House Museum. She is Treasurer of The Bournemouth Art Club. Her work often mirrors James own quest for beauty and spirituality and she has been exploring these themes in connection with the light, space and symmetry found in places of worship in the UK and abroad. One of these became the cover to James’ The Lyre Speaks True. Now everyone can see the full range of that inspiration alongside James’ poetry.

During the event there will be poetry readings by Paul Canon Harris, broadcaster, writer and poet, Joseph Sale, novelist and publisher and Sue Kerr who along with her husband Sandy is an enthusiastic patron of the arts. They will join James in reading their favourite poem from the book

This promises to be a verbal and visual delight.

Refreshments will be provided.

Books and artwork will be available to purchase.
