The GIFA NED Committee would like to extend an invitation to all non Executive Directors to a networking event to hear more about Locate Guernsey and the changing landscape of director development training.

The event is scheduled for 23 January at the OGH Hotel with a drinks reception at 17:00 and presentations commencing at 17:30. There will be a further opportunity to speak to the presenters and committee members following the presentations.

The Committee is delighted to welcome Richard Le Tocq of Locate Guernsey, part of the States of Guernsey who promotes and facilitates the relocation of businesses and high value individuals to the Island. 2016 has been an encouraging first year of business with a healthy number of enquiries and actual relocations.

Next year will see the team building on these early successes particularly focusing on the opportunities afforded in the private client space such as changes to the UK resident non-domicile tax rule and also Brexit. Funds will continue to be a target market and the team are keen to discuss promotion and opportunities to work together for the benefits of the entire Guernsey business community in 2017 and beyond.

The Committee are also taking this opportunity to provide non executive directors with an update from Paula Williams from the GTA University Centre who have been very active in developing a number of Director Development initiatives including how training is being customised to provide further relevant skill development for Directors..

Finally the Committee would like to provide the non-executive directors with an opportunity to hear more about the work of the committee for the benefit of the non-executive director community in Guernsey in promoting their interests.
