The uses of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are increasingly used by sophisticated investors to invest or trade in various markets and asset classes. This session we will share on the fundamentals and strategies in ETFs as well as introducing SPDR ETFs.

2. A deep dive and our views on the SPDR ETFs available on SGX (Straits Time Index, S&P 500 Index, Dow Jones Industrial Average Index and Gold)

3. Performance update of SGX listed SPDR ETFs and how it fare compare with the funds in the same universe

Speakers' Profiles

Sunny Leong, Business Development manager, State Street Global Advisors

Sunny Leung, Business Development manager of State Street Global Advisors, joined State Street in 2013. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for business development, client servicing and investor education for SPDR ETFs in Southeast Asia. Sunny began his ETF career in 2007 and has extensive experience in business development, product development and management within the ETF industry. Prior to State Street Global Advisors, Sunny worked at various ETF issuers including Lyxor, Credit Suisse and Vanguard. Sunny holds a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from University of Sheffield in UK and a Masters degree in Investment Management from University of Science and Technology in HK. 

Puah Soon Lim, CFA

Puah Soon Lim graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. He is also a CFA. Soon Lim has more than 20 years of experience in the financial and investment industries, spanning from money broking, merchant banking, bond sales and trading, investment planning, insurance sales and management of a wealth management sales team. His last decade was spent in a stock broking firm’s wealth management unit. He is currently Associate Director of an Independent Financial Advisor. He works with both individual and institutional investors to provide customised advice on optimal asset allocation. His extensive experience and thorough knowledge in wealth management enables him to break down difficult concepts into easy-to-understand components.
